The CudoMiner installation progress bar is frozen at 0%, 50% or 99%? Here is what to do — and when it is safe to cancel and restart.
Another Windows Installer process running in the background can block CudoMiner setup. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), look for any msiexec.exe processes and end them, then re-run the CudoMiner installer as administrator.
Real-time antivirus scanning can cause the installer to pause indefinitely as it scans each file before allowing the installer to write it.
Win+R, type %TEMP%, delete all files insideCudoMiner_Setup_Windows.exe as administrator with antivirus pausedThe CudoMiner installer needs approximately 500 MB free on your C: drive. If disk space is critically low, the installer writes partial files and then freezes.
The CudoMiner installer can appear stuck for several reasons: Windows Installer service conflict (another installation is running in the background), antivirus scanning and blocking installer components in real time, insufficient disk space, or a corrupted download. Check Task Manager for other MSI processes, ensure you have at least 500 MB free on your C: drive, and temporarily pause your antivirus.
Wait at least 5 minutes before cancelling — the 99% stage often involves GPU driver registration which can take time on older systems. If it is genuinely frozen (Task Manager shows 0% CPU for cudominer installer), it is safe to cancel, delete the temp files at %TEMP%, and restart the installer as Administrator.
